Yoga Equipment

To practice Yoga you only need your body and mind. Nothing more. Which doesn't mean that you cannot equip yourself to make life easier and your practice more enjoyable. Here you find recommendations for material that helps us in our daily Yoga practice.

Mats

There are a lot of sustainable choices for Yoga mats on the market. Just search the Internet for "environmentally friendly Yoga mat" and you will find product reviews as well as vendors. For spontaneous outdoor-practice and students without mats we use mats by Manduka. They offer mats made from natural rubber, harvested in non-rainforest areas. That way you stay free of unwanted additives and still get a good grip. And they come in beautiful colours which makes a difference if you look at it every day...

If you choose to buy a Manduka mat, please click the banner provided here. That way we get a small percentage of the purchase through our affiliate program with them while you still pay the same price.

Manduka

For indoor practice we use mats by ReYoga, sustainably made in Italy. We love the grip, the material and the perfect thickness for many different practices. Also their customer service is amazing. :-)

Blocks

Our bigger blocks are also made by Manduka. Our smaller, printed blocks are by ReYoga and are made from recycled wine corks. Cork is a natural alternative to synthetic blocks and has antibacterial properties. Aside from blocks of course you can use anything that elevates you: A thick book, an upside down bucket or a stack of anything that gets you high enough to lift your practice to the next level. But we do see the advantage of Yoga blocks that have the right grip and are easy to use in many different settings. To find the bigger blocks we have, click here:

Straps

Yoga straps are very useful for many poses. Our straps are by ReYoga and come in what we find is the perfect length and thickness. If you're not sure about how useful a strap is for you, just try out some poses using a long belt and see how you like it. There is no end to how to improve your Asana practice with props and certainly no end to your imagination.
